We are seeking an exceptional pediatric hematologist oncologist to direct the Hematologist, Oncologist and Transplantation Program.

The Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation at Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at VCU is to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia as a nationally recognized entity of clinical, educational and research excellence.  The Division currently has 6.5 clinical faculty FTEs, 5.5 advanced practice providers, two nurse coordinators, and a robust psychosocial team.  Additionally, the division has an active ACGME approved fellowship program.  CHoR is seeking additional faculty (non-tenure eligible) with experience in general hematology/oncology to join in these efforts.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience or interest in disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis, benign hematology and community outreach.  Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Candidates must be Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology.  A demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so, as a faculty member at VCU is also required.  CHoR physicians enjoy a collegial work environment with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits plan.  Preference will be given to candidates with successful record of research publications and external funding.

RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Will be a clinical investigator with academic accomplishments in the areas of clotting factors, platelet activation, or endothelial biology.
  • Work with the clinical director of pediatric coagulation and her team of support staff, clinical care, and teaching.
  • Will serve on departmental, College, and/or University committees as well asin a professional capacity in their field.
  • Will organize various programs within the Hematology/Oncology Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BC/BE in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
  • Eligible for appointment at open rank.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty,staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
