The mission of the Massey Cancer Center and the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at VCU is to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia as a nationally recognized entity of clinical, educational and research excellence. The combined pediatric, AYA and adult stem cell and immunotherapy program currently has 6 faculty members, 7 advanced practice providers and a rapidly growing program with the recent addition of CART therapy. The pediatric and AYA program has a dedicated nurse coordinator, dietician, social worker, NP, psychologist and integrated palliative care program. There is an extensive philanthropic base which provides support for patients as well as funding for program building and research. Additionally, the division has an active ACGME approved fellowship program with funding for a fourth year of training in oncogenomics, stem cell transplant or palliative care. CHoR is seeking additional faculty (non-tenure eligible) with experience in BMT to join our dedicated team in building the stem cell and immunotherapy program. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
The division of stem cell transplant is an integral part of the Massey cancer center which has a long history of clinical and research excellence with a robust clinical and translational research program. There are currently 15 open clinical including 8 phase I trials lead by our active developmental therapeutics team. We have a broad range of pathology resources with an emphasis on oncogenomic profiling, MRD monitoring and targeted therapeutics.
- Will provide comprehensive and compassionate care for patients and their families with a focus in bone marrow transplantation.
- Will provide direct clinical care and bedside teaching for students, residents, and fellows.
- Will be strategic in developing a comprehensive Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation program.
- BC/BE Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
- A demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student enrivonment, or commitment to do so, as a faculty member at VCU is also required.
