Abdominal Imaging Radiologist
The Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia is currently seeking applicants for a faculty position in the Section of Abdominal Imaging. The applicant must have experience in all facets of abdominal imaging including CT, US, MR & fluoroscopy. Demonstrated experience in performing US and CT interventions is desired but not required. Having experience in Nuclear Medicine is also a plus but not a requirement.
The section is an active clinical and academic service responsible for all aspects of abdominal imaging including CT, US, GI/GU, fluoroscopy, abdominal MR and interventional procedures. A dedicated US/CT-interventional service area is supported by the Abdominal Imaging faculty. The applicant would join eight other abdominal radiologists.
Equipment includes eight CT scanners (five Definition Flash, one Definition Drive, one Somotom AS+, one Sensation 64); twenty-six state-of-the-art ultrasound units; five 3.0T MR scanners (three VIDA, two Skyra); two 1.5T MR scanners (Aera); and four digital fluoroscopy units.
The Medical College of Virginia Hospitals has 822 beds with a Level 1 Trauma Center, a comprehensive cancer center, a large liver/kidney transplantation service, and a large adjacent outpatient facility. In addition to research opportunities in the Department of Radiology, there are ongoing interdisciplinary research projects with Surgery, Gastroenterology, Urology and Radiation Oncology.
