The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking BC/BP applicants for available faculty positions shared between our downtown VCU Health – Level 1 Trauma Center in Richmond, VA and our partners at Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA, an affiliate of VCU Health. Primary clinical practice is provided at the South Hill location with rotations at our nationally recognized hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, with an ED census of over 95,000 visits.
VCU’s Community Memorial Hospital is a community owned nonprofit hospital, located 80 miles south of the main VCU campus in Richmond, VA and 80 miles north of Raleigh, NC in rural Southside Virginia. CMH is dedicated to being the leader in health services for the South-Central region of Virginia and portions of North Carolina with a new 70 bed hospital and medical office complex that opened in November of 2017.
Interested Emergency Physicians should have strong clinical skills and a demonstrated interest in teaching and / or research. Must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Our department hosts a PGY 1-3 EM residency, a PGY 1-5 EM/IM residency, and several EM Fellowships. Academic rank will be determined by credentials.
