Pediatric Cardiologist with Echo and Fetal Expertise - F64900

The Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and the School of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University are committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical and basic research. The Children’s Hospital Foundation Heart Center is a rapidly growing enterprise with a growing referral base which provides comprehensive care to pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease, adults with congenital heart disease and expertise in fetal cardiology. This is in conjunction with a recently renovated OB-GYN floor. Our new state-of-the-art outpatient on-campus facility opened in March 2016 and new neonatal and pediatric intensive care units opened in March 2018.

We are seeking an outstanding BC/BE pediatric cardiologist with advanced fetal and echocardiography training experience at the assistant or associate professor level to fill a non-tenure eligible position.

The pediatric echocardiographic laboratory was the first triple accredited (ICAEL: TTE, TEE and Fetal) pediatric echocardiography laboratory in Central Virginia. We have an active fetal program with a referral base of 60+ mile radius. The echo lab is fully equipped, digital, and has an active tele-echo service from outlying sites. MRI, CTA, and PET imaging is available onsite. The candidate is expected to expand our integrated services with VCUHS’s regional perinatal center and Maternal Fetal Medicine Program.

Candidates should possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills. The opportunity to collaborate with adult electrophysiology is readily available. Candidates are expected to participate in the educational endeavors of the Division that supports active fellowship programs in pediatric and adult cardiology and adult interventional cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology. Research productivity is expected. Candidates should be eager to join in a major dynamic effort to create a superior academic pediatric cardiology division, in a collegial atmosphere and in a wonderful mid-Atlantic city, large enough to support all the best of a major urban setting, and small enough to be friendly and communal. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member.

Interested candidates please apply directly at www.vcujobs.com.
