Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care for pediatric emergency medicine patients during overnight shifts Supervise and teach emergency medicine residents, pediatric residents, and medical students Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental committees Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Participate in department meetings and educational conferences Assist with trauma resuscitations and critical care stabilization Provide consultation to other departments as neededRequired Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from accredited institution Board certification in Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine Current Virginia medical license or ability to obtain Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification Completion of accredited Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine residency Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCUPreferred Qualifications:
Fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine Previous academic medical center experience Experience with electronic medical records Research experience or publications Teaching experience with residents and medical students
