The Department of Psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist to serve as Division Chair of its Adult Inpatient Services. The successful candidate will have a leadership role in the department and hospital, reporting directly to the Department Chair. The incumbent will be expected to have administrative, leadership, teaching and research experience.
The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, managing and directing a 42-bed adult inpatient unit, supervising and training residents and medical students, coordinating with hospital administration on best practices, some clinical duties, and developing/conducting research. Applicants should have a U.S. medical degree or equivalent (M.D. or D.O.), with licensure (or license-eligible) to practice in the State of Virginia and DEA licensure. Five to ten years of post-residency experience required and fellowship trained preferred. Successful applicants will have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

VCU Psychiatry is ranked #19 by NIH for research funding and its residents and faculty are ranked #1 for teaching in VCUs School of Medicine.
