The Cardiology Hospitalist-Nocturnist Program allows for inpatient inhouse coverage and admissions to the non-ICU Cardiology services at night, from 7pm to 7 am, 7 days a week. The Hospitalist service is a 2-person team of internists who support the Cardiology inpatient teams in the care of patients with multiple medical problems. |
Responsibilities: Support teaching directly via interactions with Fellows, House staff and non-physician professionals. Support clinical research protocols in adjunctive clinical management. Cross-coverage and admissions to Cardiology services at night, including the general Cardiology services, the Electrophysiology service, and the Advanced Heart Failure service. Will be expected to participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives. Anticipated clinical effort is 100%. The workload and time commitments are commensurate with the medical hospitalists - nocturnists; duty expectations - approximately 14 to 15 shifts per 4-week time period. Duties: To directly manage patients on the inpatient and observational Cardiology services 12 hours overnight in a collaborative manner with Cardiology Attendings, Fellows, Residents and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to ensure a unified Cardiology plan is developed for each patient. To admit patients from the Emergency Department and admit transfers to the Cardiology services from other services or outside hospitals. Administrative duties - submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Abide by all medical staff requirements.
