The Department of Family Medicine & Population Health at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time Family Medicine Physician for the Tappahannock Family Practice clinic.

  • Tappahannock Family Practice serves a rural population from the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck regions of Virginia.
  • The practice provides care for patients of all ages and includes opportunities for office-based procedures.
  • As a rural site, the practice focuses on providing comprehensive care to all patients under their care.

Tappahannock Family Practice is a busy clinical site and is a teaching site for School of Medicine Family Medicine M3 rotations.

With a target start date of May 1, 2021, this position offers a competitive salary and generous benefit package, as well as ability to earn clinical bonuses.

The doctor in this position will have the opportunity to be involved in medical student teaching and departmental research projects.

Required qualifications include:

  • Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia
  • MD or DO from an accredited university
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationships
  • Flexibility/adaptability

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in didactic and/or clinical teaching of medical students
  • Research interests in medical education
