The Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at Virginia Commonwealth University is currently recruiting for the Vice Chair of Family Medicine Education. The applicant should have direct experience combining health science clinical practice and teaching in the service of underserved patients. The applicant should be able to obtain a license to practice clinically and certification by the appropriate professional board in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Vice Chair for Family Medicine Education will be responsible for the leadership, management, and administration of the Family Medicine medical education team across the domains of teaching, service, and scholarship. The position encompasses the full-spectrum of medical education to include pipeline, UME, GME, and faculty development. Experience working with medically underserved communities and the ability to care for patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting are required. The Vice Chair of Medical Education will have at least five (5) years of experience in health sciences education, will have held leadership positions in education and have experience appropriate for the appointment at the Associate Professor level or higher.

This positions responsibilities will include program leadership, direct patient care, resident teaching, and precepting. The Vice Chair of Medical Education will be an active participant in the Departments research and scholarship programs.
